Axium Packaging announces the acquisition of Silte

    Neuilly-sur-Seine, 8 November 2023

Backed by Cerea Partners (majority shareholder) and Bpifrance, Axium Packaging, which specialises in the manufacture of PET, recycled PET, PP and PCR PP jars, bottles and closures for the Hygiene-Beauty and Agri-Food markets, announces the acquisition of Silte in Italy.

Silte, a family-owned SME based in Budrio near Bologna in Italy, specialises in the manufacture of extrusion blow-moulded and cold cycle blow-moulded jars and bottles for the Italian Hygiene-Beauty, Cosmetics and Detergents markets.

Founded in 1970, SILTE has sales of €7.5m and employs 25 people at its Italian production site.

Axium Packaging, founded in 1968 and headquartered in Saint Etienne (France), specialises in the design and manufacture of plastic packaging by injection, injection blow moulding and extrusion blow moulding.

The products (bottles, caps, cans, etc.) are mainly intended for the food, cosmetics, and health industries. This standard (45%) and made-to-measure (55%) packaging is manufactured from recyclable (PET, PP, HDPE) and recycled (rPET) resins.

It has sales of €70.0m and employs more than 360 people at 4 production sites, including 2 in France, 1 in Germany and 1 in the Czech Republic.

This acquisition is part of the Axium Packaging group's development strategy based on organic and external growth. The integration of Silte into the group will enable Axium Packaging to strengthen its territorial coverage on a European scale and will enhance the group's range of standard and specific packaging while remaining in line with its strategic development objective: to offer its customers eco-designed packaging comprising a container and a customised closure solution.

As a complement to its plastic packaging offering, Silte will benefit from the synergy of development with the group's other entities in order to strengthen its product and service offering on the Italian market, particularly for the food industry.

This acquisition strengthens the position of the Axium Packaging group, which has operations throughout Europe and, following this acquisition, employs 385 people at 5 production sites and has consolidated sales of almost €80.0m.
