Icko Apiculture group speeds up its development

Owned by Cerea, Pierre Ickowicz and the management team since the end of 2018, Icko Apiculture concludes its 3rd acquisition in 2 years in order to expand its footprint across France.

Icko Apiculture is the European leader in the distribution of beekeeping Equipment and consumables. Created in 1947, Icko is committed to supporting beekeepers and to protecting bees.

The Group distributes the widest range of products available in its market, with more than 4,500 references, and is expecting to achieve a turnover of €40 million in 2021.

With the support of Cerea, Icko's management team is pursuing an active build-up policy. After Beeopic in 2019 and Centre d'Apiculture in 2020, Leygonie Apiculture joined the group early this year. With these acquisitions and the opening of 4 new stores (in Besançon, Lille, Rennes and Reims), Icko will have a network of 16 points of sale in France by mid-2021.

The group is also actively focused on its digital channel, which helped to fuel high sales growth last year, with e-commerce now accounting for around 15% of consolidated revenues.

In view of its on-going expansion, Icko is investing in new headquarters and warehouse facilities totalling 14,000m², which are currently under construction in Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux (Drôme), just a few kilometres from the company's original headquarters in Bollène (Vaucluse, France). This new infrastructure will be equipped with a photovoltaic operation of 1600 Kwc with 6,000m² of photovoltaic panels on its roof and 140 parking spaces fitted with sunshades. This new platform is expected to be operational by year-end.

These innovations reflect Icko's strategy of seeking constant improvement in the quality of its service to both professional and private beekeepers.
